Abdominoplasty In Review

As we get older, most people gain some weight. A focused diet and exercise plan over many months is the best and first step. Optimizing one's overall health should be a priority.

Sometimes patients can benefit from one of many surgical options to improve their appearance and body image. My approach to treatment of the abdominal area is always bespoke to each individual and their history. Most patients can be categorized in one of two ways.

Low weight change patients are those who have maintained a steady body weight their entire lives. A good example is a woman who had children and returned to her pre pregnancy weight within 10 pounds (4 kg).

High weight change patients are those who have lost significant body weight, usually 75 pounds (34 kg) or more. A good example is a patient who undergoes bariatric surgery and their weight is stable for at least 12 months.
